Easy Air Fryer Chicken Nuggets | Kid-Approved Hot Lunch Recipe for Food Jars
Ingredients:
1 chicken breast (about 200g), cut into small chunks (around 3–4 cm pieces)
1 tsp bicarb (bicarbonate of soda)
½ cup plain flour (all-purpose)
2 eggs, beaten
¾ cup panko breadcrumbs
¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
2 tsp Italian herb mix
Salt and pepper
Method:
Tenderise chicken: Toss chicken pieces with bicarb. Let sit for 15–20 mins (this helps make them soft and tender).
Rinse and dry: Rinse chicken well under cold water, then pat dry with paper towel.
Get your coating bowls ready: Bowl 1: Flour. Bowl 2: Beaten egg. Bowl 3: Panko, parmesan, herbs, salt & peppe
Coat the chicken: Dip each piece into flour → then egg → then panko mix. Press to coat well.
Air fry: Place nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket (don’t overcrowd). Lightly spray the nuggets with oil to help them crisp up. Cook at 200°C for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and cooked through.
