homemade cheese & bacon rolls | recipe

Make, freeze, pack in the lunchbox. No spreading, no filling, no cutting, no defrosting needed. A super tasty lunch that's ready to go!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast
  • 280 grams warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 480 grams bakers flour
  • 1 teaspoon bread improver
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg, lightly whisked
  • Grated cheese
  • Diced bacon or ham pieces

Thermomix Method:

  1. Place yeast and warm water in the bowl, mix 20 seconds, speed 4
  2. Add salt, flour, bread improver, oil and mix for 5 seconds, speed 7
  3. Then 3 minutes, knead function
  4. Transfer into oiled bowl, cover and leave to prove for 1 hour or until mixture has almost tripled in size
  5. Work the dough into 6-12 rolls and place onto tray, almost touching
  6. Leave rolls to prove for another 30 minutes or until doubled in size
  7. Score the top of each roll with a knife
  8. Brush with egg wash, and top with cheese then bacon (or ham)
  9. Bake in 180 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden
